The opportunity to continue higher education was important to me when I finished high school, and I chose VCU to pursue my degree. Over the years, I have come to appreciate the greater impact my time at VCU had on my career and the success I have had. I also appreciate the broad impact this university has on the greater Richmond region, helping make RVA a great place to learn, live, grow a career (and a family) and give back. Serving on the foundation board allows me to understand the complexity of a changing higher-ed landscape, challenges our students face and how I can help make an impact on their success.

Through Laura and her team, we were made aware of stellar VCU students who are in danger of not graduating because they lack funding to complete their studies. The foundation board has been able to meet the gap for these students and set up an endowment for future needs.
